Gossip about Samantha Janus played by Ronnie Mitchell in Eastenders

The 'EastEnders' star - who plays Ronnie Mitchell - is not at all worried about losing her looks to old age.

Samantha, 34, told Britain's Soaplife magazine: "I've never minded the idea of getting older. Illness frightens me but not looking old.

"I actually prefer the way I look now to when I was younger."

The former 'Game On' star also revealed she gets on really well with Rita Simons, who plays her onscreen sister Roxy, which helps their performance.

Samantha said: "It doesn't matter how good an actress you are, you have to have a chemistry. We spark off each other!"

The blonde beauty has been acting since she was a child, but is still in awe of being on 'EastEnders'.

She said: "I've watched the show for years. Now I'm working behind the same bar as Angie Watts!

"The only thing I'm worried about is being lynched if Ronnie turns out to be a baddie!"

Whilst Samantha Janus is not worrying about ageing she claims her new role in 'EastEnders' saved her marriage.

The actress revealed that money worries were ruining her relationship with actor Mark Womack before she landed the role of Ronnie Mitchell in the BBC soap.

Samantha told Britain's Soaplife magazine: "We were really struggling at one point.

"Money trouble is really difficult to deal with. It can tear a relationship apart and we had our struggles when I stopped working. But it's like anything - if you work at it, it gets better."

Now that she is a working woman again, the 34-year-old former 'Game On' star leaves husband Mark at home to look after their children - six-year-old Benjamin and two-year-old Lily-Rose - as well as their two new pet puppies.

Samantha said: "He's got his hands full but there's security with this job.

It's a brilliant challenge."

But despite being delighted by her new job, Samantha admits her first days of filming were nerve-racking.

She said: "Barbara Windsor, who plays Peggy Mitchell, said I should keep getting nerves for at least a year-and-a-half and I have been very nervous.

When you go into the Queen Vic you just know you're treading on iconic ground."
