Jynxt Review Title:  Jynxt

Having developed a scintillating live-show which is reflected by headlining some of London’s most renowned venues, and also returning from a successful first stretch in the US, the London-based five-piece Jynxt, are set to release their debut album, ‘Bring Back Tomorrow’ .

Constructing a perfect marriage between the digital and the organic, Jynxt’s unique sound began to be developed back in 1999 by brothers Ben and Nat Spencer (offspring of Fleetwood Mac’s Jeremy), in a home studio where they mastered their love of blending live bass and guitar riffs with drum loops. Clearly heralding from a musical family, the Spencer brothers further emphasised the family core of the band by bringing in sister Tally the following year, whose energetic yet supple vocals contribute to her overall charismatic presence as front-woman. Completing the equation with bassist Simon Walsh, and DJ Dan Brown in 2005, their convincing musical vision of combining classic rock structures and boundary-pushing electronic production, was fully realised.

Comparable to the likes of Linkin Park, Evanescence and Kosheen, the band’s exciting fusion of rock/metal and techno/drum n’ bass themes is epitomised in their explosive second single, The Name. However, other elements to the album such as the opening to Quantum Jump, demonstrate Jynxt’s impressive scope for versatility as a softer vibe is incorporated including warm synthesised drones, which contribute to an atmospheric mesh of sounds complimenting Tally’s glistening vocal melodies.

‘Techno-rock with a euphoric tinge’ – an envisioned genre which Jynxt have made their own. Staying true to their heritage, yet always looking towards the cutting-edge creative lead they crave, they exist as an important contributor to the UK’s bubbling prog renaissance. With a rapidly growing fan base & raising their live profile, Jynxt are certainly gaining ground in their pursuit of mainstream success.
